Innovation INFLAS®

Innovation
Inflas®
Inflatable
liner
Inflatable
INFLAS®
liner
Gentle for use with sensitive products. Strong enough to withstand abrasive media.
The challenge

Abrasive bulk solids can lead to high levels of wear on elastomer seals. Sensitive media may be damaged as the disc closes.

The innovation

The INFLAS® sealing system features an inflatable liner to ensure gentle opening and closing. This hugely minimises friction wear.

The underlying principle
  1. The valve closes with a low torque.
  2. A gap is initially left between the liner and the valve disc.
  3. The liner is pressed uniformly onto the polished sealing surface of the valve disc with low air/inert gas pressure.
  4. The flow of media is securely closed off.
  5. To gently open the valve, air is simply let out of the system.

All necessary functions can be controlled via existing process control systems, the EBRO micro controller or the ECO pneumatic control block.

The innovative INFLAS® liner
  1. Double-sided profiles ensure optimum fit between the liner and the body.
  2. Convex shape absorbs deformation when fitting between flanges and prevents damage or higher torques.
  3. Raised locating ring prevents lateral displacement when inflated or when pressure is applied from just one side.
  4. Stabilised shaft seals with centring lugs make sure the liner is correctly aligned inside the valve.
Perfect for many different applications

With 6 basic liners and 34 different material combinations we can provide the perfect liner for every application.

WB 14
Lug-type knife gate valve
1 | WB 14

The Stafsjö knife gate valve seals on both sides and can therefore be fitted in pipes irrespective of the pressure direction. A fully flanged body and integral flange gaskets make installation straightforward and allow the valve to be fitted on pipe end connections.

2 | SC Linear actuator

Thanks to its extremely detailed torque graduation, the SC linear cylinder is a sound solution for almost every valve with stroke movement.

The integral NAMUR interface and the body groove for housing contactless limit switches guarantee excellent control and feedback options.

Application in the bulk solids industry places high demands on the components installed in the plants. In relation to sensitive media, such as milk powder or tea leaves, gentle product handling is a priority. However, when handling highly abrasive media such as quartz sand or porcelain slurry, the component materials need to be extremely wear-resistant.

EBRO offers a wide range of valves and actuators for almost any application, ensuring that these meet the specific requirements of the relevant application. Impeller valves and inflatable liners for sensitive products, wear-resistant materials such as special polyurethane coatings for abrasive media, and oscillating valve discs to prevent build-up – we have the perfect solution for your particular application.

This PTFE-lined butterfly and control valve is particularly suited to applications involving sensitive media in the food and beverage industry.

All components that come into contact with the product comply with FDA, EG 1935/2004 & EG 10/2011 regulations. This valve has a stainless steel body and uses a highly polished disc, making it particularly suitable for SIP/CIP systems. It is available in nominal diameters from DN 50 to DN 300.

Further products

When designing systems in the food and beverage industry, the careful handling of products is an absolute priority.

The selected components must meet very specific mechanical requirements to ensure that they do not damage the product or cause impurities to enter the pipe system.

EBRO valves are developed to ensure strict compliance with these specifications and can be used without hesitation in processes involving critical products.

The special design of the "Inflas" butterfly valve series ensures the seal is only pressed against the disc after the valve has closed. This is an effective way of preventing crushing or compression of the conveyed products.

HP 114
High-performance lug-type butterfly valve
1 | HP 114

The high performance valve range is tailormade for applications where extreme pressure and temperature resistance is a priority.

The extended shaft prevents cold bridges and makes it easier to operate ‘concealed’ installations.

The RAL 9010 paint system was specially selected for a luxury yacht customer.

2 | EB SYD

This series of pneumatic rotary actuators is ideally suited to controlling 90° valves.

The maximum torque is provided at the moment of opening or closing.

A wide selection of different sizes guarantees optimum sizing for the relevant butterfly or control valve.

3 | SBU Advanced

This switchbox provides a digital interface to the valve.

Continuous monitoring of valve, actuator and control valve functions can be displayed on suitable terminal devices via Bluetooth.

Z 011-A therm
Wafer Type valve with integrated thermometer
1 | Z 011-A

This soft-sealing wafer-type butterfly valve can be used almost universally at operating pressures up to 16 bar and temperatures from -10°C to +130°C.

A wide selection of standard materials, various approvals and certificates from independent classification societies and the proverbial excellent EBRO quality ensure operational reliability in a wide range of applications.

2 | Thermometer

The temperature element is located exactly in the disc around which the medium flows, thus preventing the formation of a mixed temperature between the medium and the valve body - Patented bimetallic spiral ensures fast response time to temperature changes.
