Press Release
The WS112 for water applications has been newly added to the EBRO portfolio and is available now. Pressure loss minimized by the flow-optimized design of the valve makes the WS112 your best choice for lines that transport large volumes of water. Seat design, shaft bearing and sealing with uninterrupted corrosion protection, along with the double-offset design, turn the WS112 into an outstanding solution for a great variety of applications – specifically those subject to demanding conditions – in water management.
The butterfly valve WS112, a brand-new addition to the product range, is EBRO’s double-offset valve for water applications, catering to water management. The valve is ideal for water distribution, water transport, and water treatment. The seal-on-disc design of the double-flanged valve ensures bubble-tight bi-directional sealing.
WS112: for demanding uses, e.g., in sewage systems or desalination plants
The double-offset design with polygonal shaft reduces friction and minimizes wear, covering some of the most demanding use cases. The design principle also ensures that minimal strength is needed to actuate the valve. This makes the EBRO WS112 the best choice for piping used to transport large volumes of water, e.g., in sewage systems and desalination plants.
Special features of the design #1: Shaft with polygonal profile and dry-shaft design
The polygonal profile of the shaft optimizes the transmission of forces onto the disc, rendering bolts and pins that connect the shaft to the disc superfluous, while the polygonal profile ensures a form-locking connection. It’s the perfect functional principle for valves that are actuated only rarely, i.e., once or twice per year. The dry-shaft design with high-precision bearings, O-rings, and closed disc hubs also ensures long-term corrosion protection.
Special features of the design #2: Double-offset valve
Beyond this, the design principle of the double-offset valve makes sure that the disc will quickly move out of the seal and seat ring to minimize friction and wear. Where repairs are needed, the design keeps replacement of the sealing ring screwed to the disc via another ring simple. Just loosen the screws, take out the ring, and replace the seal. That’s all. Epoxy-resin coating on the valve optimizes corrosion protection.
Nominal sizes and pressure ratings: The EBRO WS112 core details
The EBRO WS112 is available only in the double-flanged build, in nominal sizes DN 100 – DN 2200. Larger nominal sizes are available upon request. The valve comes in pressure ratings PN 10, 16, 25, and PN 40 and with the face-to-face options EN 558-1 series 14 and series 13, DIN 3202 F4 and F16. The valve body is made of gray cast iron (GG) or ductile iron (GGG 40 painted). Electric actuators are not the only actuator option for the WS112. Slider crank mechanisms are also available, for example.
