EBRO ARMATUREN presents the new sensor locking lever as an innovative solution for end position monitoring in manual shut-off valves. For the first time, the highly integrated technology combines a mechanical locking function with digital feedback in a single, compact unit, making even manually actuated valves ready for the connected process world.
The sensor locking lever comprises the tried and tested standard locking lever and a newly developed latching disc with integrated inductive proximity switches for reliable recognition of the end positions [figure 1]. The integrated design reduces the required installation space as compared to previous solutions. Installation effort and costs reduce considerably at the same time.
While the end position monitoring is a default item in pneumatically or electrically operated valves today, it continues to be a frequent safety-relevant gap at manual actuation. Incorrect operation frequently remains undiscovered and may cause operational faults, loss of quality, or even system damage in particular in critical processes.
This is where the sensor locking lever comes in by integrating the end position feedback right into the hand lever without requiring any additional assemblies or external components at all. This makes the position of the valve clearly recognizable at any time.
Another advantage is the ease of retrofitting: Existing manual valves can be fitted with the sensor locking lever with little effort, giving owners a cost-efficient option for digitizing their systems and sustainably improving process safety.
